Ancient civilisation gave us the "Vasudhaiva Kutumbkam" (World is One Family) concept. Sri Aurobindo dreamt of a World Federation based on human unity. Gandhiji called for a World State.

Every citizen who lives in human society, should also care about the society he lives in, and should think of contributing his/her bit in making this place a better place to live in.
